Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 large navel oranges, peeled and segmented (remove as much pith as possible)
  • 1 small frozen banana, sliced
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or vanilla yogurt for extra sweetness)
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened milk of choice (dairy, almond, or oat)
  • 1–2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, to taste (optional)
  • 1 cup ice cubes (adjust to desired thickness)
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional, enhances flavor)
  • Optional add-ins: 1 tablespoon orange zest, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, or a scoop of vanilla protein powder

Instructions

  • Prep the oranges: Peel and segment the oranges. If you see large seeds or thick white pith, remove them to avoid bitterness.
  • Load the blender: Add oranges first, then frozen banana, yogurt, milk, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Add ice on top.
  • Blend until smooth: Start on low, then increase to high for 30–60 seconds. Scrape down the sides if needed.
  • Taste and adjust: If you want it sweeter, add honey or maple syrup. For a stronger creamsicle vibe, add a touch more vanilla.
  • Fine-tune the texture: Too thick? Add a splash of milk. Too thin? Add a few more ice cubes or a bit more frozen banana.
  • Serve immediately: Pour into a chilled glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of orange zest or a thin orange slice if you like.
